2023: Only Imo people will re elect Gov, Uzodimma, not Wike, Govt replies Rivers Governor

Imo State Government has emphasized that the re-election of Gov Hope Uzodinma lies solely in the hands of the people of Imo state and will not in any be determined by Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike

The government also declared that the re-election of the Governor is assured based on his sterling performance unlike the Rivers governor “who in the last seven years has squandered the goodwill of the people while chasing shadows and meddling in the affairs of other states”

The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon Declan Emelumba stated this while reacting to the statement credited to Wike that PDP will take over Imo state in the next election.Emelumba maintained that the PDP cannot dethrone Governor Uzodimma if the performance of Wike was an indices of the party’s strength of PDP, adding that the River state governor is synonymous with unmitigated failure and crass recklessness

“The man in question is a colossal failure and a megalomaniac whose posturing has left Rivers State poorer in the last seven years. He is a complete failure in governance and leadership and therefore is unfit to assess Uzodinma”, the commissioner said.He noted that while Wike was busy wasting the state’s resources in building flyovers that are useless, he has not been able to fix even the general hospital in Isiokpo, the heart of Ikwerre land.“The sheer quantum of roads done by Uzodimma in two years is a testament of his prodigious service delivery. He has empowered the youths. He has reactivated industries. He has brought back health institutions to live in. More than that, he has united Imo people and returned power to the people

“Which PDP will take over Imo State? The fractured one that has been colonised by Wike, which is now his appendage or which one? Hope Uzodinma’s sterling performance will win him re-election and not the fantasies of a confused man whose is a celebrated failure

“In many states of Nigeria including Cross River, the man has been declared a personal non grata. Let him not test our will”. Emelumba warned
