The Family Trust & Care Foundation owned and chaired by Dr. Zainab Jamil Gwamna has distributed free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms to no fewer than 160 prospective candidates randomly selected from across Gombe state.
Dr. Zainab is wife of the Chief Executive Officer of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) and 2023 frontline governorship aspirant in Gombe state, Dr. Isyaku Jamil Gwamna.
A Statement from the Foundation’s Media Office, signed by Mr. Ibrahim Sani Shawai, on Wednesday, said the gesture was part of Dr. Zainab’s desire to promote and encourage qualitative education for the youths in the state.
The statement made available to The AUTHORITY further stated that, “the aim of this philanthropic gesture is to assist the poor and financially-challenged students to attain their dreams in securing admission into tertiary institutions and acquiring knowledge that will give them better opportunities to have a good life in the future.”
In her remarks during a brief ceremony that marked distribution of the forms, Dr. Gwamna said the gesture was to provide the opportunity for everyone to get good, quality and resounding education irrespective of their background.
She added that, “providing this opportunity for the young ones in the society would help give them hope towards self-development. “
She urged the candidates to put in more efforts in their studies, adding that education would help them unlock their potentials in life.
