Osborn Umahi: Emerging new generation leader focused on greater good for Nigeria

The recent declaration by Osborn Nweze Umahi who is son of a Governor about his mission to raise $1billion for humanitarian activities has continued to generate interest online.

Many do not doubt his ability to raise the hefty fund going by his reputation in financial matters and not necessarily because of his clout as the son of Chief Dave Umahi, Executive Governor of Ebonyi State.

Observers agreed that the young Umahi is not walking in his father’s shadow but working to earn his reputation independent of his father’s wealth and influence.

At Forte GCC Innovative Solutions, where he is the financial director, he has been at the heart of the company’s assets management services across real estate, stocks and bonds. Similarly, Osborn Nweze Umahi’s profile has been impressive as an entrepreneur and a management guru, especially in the light of the fact that he graduated at 21, from Surrey University, UK,and went straight to managing multiple businesses including the Umahi family business, Brass Oil and Construction Limited and his personal hospitality enterprise, Osborn Lapalm Royal Resort.

Aside from his professional and entrepreneurial pedigree, he has also impressed with his Osborn Foundation, which has been the primary vehicle for his humanitarian activities. In July 2021, the foundation had provided teaching and learning materials to a school in Kano.

Also in Ebonyi State, he had worked in partnership with academic institutions to sponsor the education of 50 underprivilged students.
In the light of his past charity, the $1billion fundraising was seen as a natural development and a feat that can be attained by Osborn Nweze Umahi.

Even as the young Umahi, an alumnus of Aberdeen University where he obtained a Master’s in Finance, continues to blaze the trail in corporate management and entrepreneurship, it is evident that he is poised to become one of Nigeria’s influential figures not only in business circle but also in philanthropy.
