Ex Benue Commissioner debunks defection rumours

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Benue State, Professor  Dennis Ityavyar, has debunked insinuation making the rounds in some quarters that he has defected to the All Progressives Party (APC). 

Professor, Ityavyar, who was the immediate past commissioner for Education  spoke in a telephone conversation on Friday in Makurdi, where he said, even though favoured by zoning, but allegedly affected by committee handling consensus where they unilaterally picked  Benue Speaker Hon.Titus Uba to represent the fourteen Tiv Local Government Speaking areas to contest the party primaries with Benson Abounu scheduled to take later this month, he still remains a PDP member and has no intensions of leaving the party. 

Professor Ityavyar described the allegations as un substantiated claims and urged his supporters to discountenance the  speculation. 

The choice of Uba and Abounu by Governor Ortom may have triggered internal crisis in Benue PDP, that has led to the defection of strong members, the ,immediate past Chief of Staff Mr. Terwase Orbunde and  Dr  Paul 0rhii to the APC in recent times.

The explained that the Governor may have delt a big blow to the progress of the PDP in Benue state, stating that “nowhere on earth could an individual took unilaterally decision ” insisting  if anyone is not comfortable, let them  find their ways.
