The Chairman Abaji Area Council, Hon. Abdullahi Abubakar has constituted a Committee to look into the welfare of residents.
He disclosed this while addressing his supporters shortly after taking oath of office as the new Chairman.
Abubakar thanked the electorate for the massive votes given to him to win the election during the February,12th FCT Area Council elections just as he assured them that he would carry them along without showing ethnic and religious differences.
The chairman told them that women and youth empowerment programmes would be introduced to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the residents of the council.
He used the opportunity to reveal his planned on the education sector to include basic and secondary levels, noting that enough budgetary allocation would be provided in order to improve the standard of education in Abaji and environs.
Abubakar reiterated commitment to provide a conducive working environment for staff of the area council even as he assured them he would not betray the confidence reposed on him.
