Sola Latunji clinches UN Special Envoy Role For Youth Development

On the 19th August 2022, we witnessed the induction ceremony where social media motivator Sola Latunji whose instagram handle is @so_lat was appointed the UN International Peace and Governance Council (IPGC) Special Envoy on Youth Development.

It was such a colorful event graced by top society and influential dignitaries. Himself and a few other privileged individuals got recognized for their humanitarian services, leadership & youth empowerment passion during the recently concluded Pan-African Leadership Symposium and Honors (PALESH2022) jointly powered by Arise O’ Nigeria Centre for Leadership and UN International Peace and Governance Council which took place at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.

When asked how he qualified for such a prestigious appointment, he responded with emphasis that over the years he has only been consistent with activities that improve the lives of people far and near. Yes by the grace of God he has always occupied leadership roles at the different stages of his life, but he noted that he allows passion drive him and not power.

He explained that he derives pleasure in seeing human lives improve. On his social media platforms, his posts are mostly motivational. He said: “the world is filled with so many natural negativities, so we need superior forces that can neutralize the efficacy of the negative vibes among humanity. And so I choose the path of amplifying positive vibes to subdue negativity by inspiring the world with my posts / speeches. I am particular and deliberate about what I communicate through speaking or writing to the public at all time – because words either make or mar”.

This passion has been evident as far back as Sola Latunji’s university school days in Europe, where he effectively functioned in the office of International Students’ Union president during his last two years in the University. Despite the challenges that arise from culture differences between the Nationals and the foreign students, he never got weary in doing all that is necessary to ensure that peace prevails and that the community is conducive for everyone to live regardless of their culture & nationality.

It didn’t end at that point for Sola Latunji that night. We also experienced his recognition & ceremonial admission as Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management & Leadership (CIML), USA. The certificate of membership was presented by Dr Oluremi Olutimo, the President of Highstone International University, California, USA.
