NBRRI plans summit to halt building collapse

The Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) said it has concluded plans to host a summit on addressing factors that cause building collapse in the country.

The institute said the increasing cases of building collapse was becoming worrisome and needed to be tackled.

In a statement issued by the Director General/CEO of NBRRI, Engr Prof.Samson Duna, disclosed that the summit will bring to the fore the factors responsible for building collapse, its devasting consequences and concrete measures to be taken to guard against it.

The summit with the theme: “Review of Building Collapse in Nigeria, Critical Outlook and the Way Forward” is scheduled to hold on 6th December, 2022, in Abuja.

The statement added that the summit will attract critical stakeholders from both the private and public sectors with the Hon. Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. (Sen.) Adeleke Olorunimbe Mamora expected to declare the event open.
