2023: Massive prayers in Zamfara for PDP, Lawan victory

From Salisu Zakari Maradun, Gusau

As the court is yet to determine on whether or not the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)will take part in the 2023 general elections in Zamfara, hundreds of people from across the state have continued to pray for the victory of the gubernatorial candidate of the party, Dr. Dauda Lawan.

Investigation conducted by our reporter in the state showed that on a daily basis, hundreds of people gather to conduct a congregational prayer for the victory of both party and its gubernatorial candidate.

After the special prayer, according to the investigation, the participants in the daily prayer also recite some verses of the holy Qur’an 00 times a day dedicating it to the flag bearer of the party Alhaji Dauda Lawan.

The investigation also revealed that even women were not left behind in the supplication, as some members of the Federated Organization for Muslim Women Association in Nigeria (FOMWAN) are separately conducting their own, all in sympathy with Dauda Lawan, who many people believed to be the only one that can salvage the state.

Though it is time now of showcasing political items to the people as entrenched in the constitution or rather tie for the electioneering campaign, the authority, authoritatively discovered that in Zamfara is just like there is nothing happening as it remained quite and deserted.

unlike other states in the federation where political activities commenced fully, in Zamfara it is always like weekend as people are always indoors having nothing doing coupled with inability to pay the salary of the workers.

many people who spoke to our reporter in Gusau, the capital of the state, expressed their sadness over the delay in making it public, the fate of the party as far as politicl participation is concerned “We are anxious wating to hear from the court the stance of the PDP candidate or the PDP as a whole in the state” stated one Alhaji Idris KAsimu, a PDP stalwart in the state. Kasim explained that not only he, but the entire people of the state, particularly women whose husbands have been rendered useless and whose also children have been ignored and deprived of the opportunity to go to school or their farmlands are all behind the PDP and that is why as you can see or as you must have witnessed, we all embarked on a special prayer in Gusau for the opposition PDP, the party that is expected to form next government in this our state,” he added.

he commented further that as the present leaders did not do anything worthy of commendation to the led, it is a no longer hidden thing that they are hopeless as far as election is concerned.
