Group expresses confidence on Alhaji Ajaka as the next Kogi Gov

A Group, The Igala Conscience, has expressed confidence that Alhaji Muritala Ajaka will emerge as the next Kogi State governor, stressing that Kogi indigenes and reaidents need liberation from economic and political hardships as they look forward to a change of government in November 2023.

Speaking to newsmen yesterday in Abuja, Convener of the group, Dr. Idris Idoko, urged all citizens of Kogi State to join hands and bring on board, a credible person as the next governor of the State.

Dr. Idoko lamented that the state was blessed with many mineral resources, yet it had suffered backwardness. 

Noting that the Group had considered all the candidates across the political parties in the forthcoming governorship election and expressed confidence that Alhaji Ajaka would perform better considering his pedigree.

He said, “Alhaji Ajaka had developed many parts of the State, provided succour to people displaced by flood and worked for the victory of the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and should be encouraged to emerge victorious.”

Similarly, the General-Secretary of the group, Comrade Okpanachi Jacob, reiterated despite the enormous support enjoyed by the new direction government following the death of Prince Abubakar Audu, the corrupt system in Kogi State disregarded the welfare and security of the people since assumption in office.

Okpanachi said, “we are not here to lament the pain of the last seven-plus years  of political, social and economic retrogression where taxpayers do not receive commensurate infrastructure for the taxes paid to the state and local government.”
