Declare for 2023 presidency or face legal action, group tells Tinubu

From Maduabuchi Nmeribeh, Kano

Though the 2023 presidential election is still far away, the Disciples of Jagaba (DOJ) has threatened to institute legal actions against the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Dr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, should he fail to contest the election.

DOJ which declared 100 percent loyalty to Tinubu’s presidency said the former Lagos State Governor is the right person to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking to journalists shortly after inaugurating the Executives of the Kano state chapter of DOJ, its National Coordinator, Comrade Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje, described Tinubu as the only trusted politician capable of building on the legacies of Buhari.

He said DOJ may be left with no choice that to sue Tinubu should he fail the contest the 2023 presidential election.

According to him, “we are supporting Tinubu and calling on him to contest the 2023 presidential election for the benefit of Nigeria and Nigerians. We are out for the Tinubu 2023 project because we love Nigeria and we believe in the progress of this country.

” You can believe me that Tinubu has laboured so much for the development of this country. We all know how he laboured to give us President Muhammadu Buhari.

“We need continuity. We need somebody that will continue and consolidated on the achievements President Buhari is making. We need somebody that knows the house, and that is Bola Tinubu.”

Also speaking, one of the new Coordinator’s of DOJ in Kano, Hon. Yusuf Ibrahim Lajawa, called on the North to rally round Tinubu who he described as a detribalized Nigerian.

According to him, “Tinubu is a nationalist, a bridge builder and a visionary leader who has all it takes to take Nigeria to greater heights. We therefore urge him not to hesitate from answering this clarion call to contest the 2023 presidential election.”

Ibrahim Lajawa added that the North should prepare to give Tinubu a “block vote” in 2023, going by the sacrifices he made towards ensuring the emergence of Buhari as Nigeria’s president.

He added that, ” to me, this is the best time for the North to show appreciation and compensate Tinubu for the sacrifices he has made for the North.

“We will support him, and if he refuses to contest, we will force him because 2023 is the time for him to come and show leadership. Tinubu should come and deliberate Nigerians.”
