Assault: Seun Kuti in trouble as IGP orders for his arrest

By Hassan Zaggi

Popular Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, has incurred the wrath of the Nigeria Police Force as the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba,  has ordered the Commissioner of  Police in charge of Lagos state to  immediately arrest  him.

The IGP’ order followed a well-circulated video of the singer assaulting a police officer in uniform.

The IGP has equally ordered a speedy and full investigation into the remote and immediate cause(s) of the assault and prosecution of the suspect accordingly.

In a statement signed by the Force Spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi (CSP) on Saturday night, IGP Alkali Baba, however,  assured Nigerians that acts of contempt/disdain for symbols of authority will not be tolerated while offenders of such hideous crimes will be surely brought to book.
