10th NASS and the Not to young to run vision-

,……..The coming of Hon Stanislaus Okereke

From Maurice Okafor,Enugu.

To a large extent.the composition of members ot the 10th National Assembly satisfies the yearnings of most Nigerians for a nascent democratic process that will be vibrant with constructive opposition.

The political dynamism which enhanced the election of many legislators on the platform of Labour party is the number one attestation of obvious metamophosis in the National Assembly. The labour party will become a third force unlike in the previous dispensations where either the APC is in majority and the PDP seen as the opposition party or vice versa.

The composition of the 10th National Assembly also satifies the yearning of Nigerian Youths to be accommodated in the political process and art of governance in the country. The Nigerian youths quest in this direction was demonstrated through ‘Not too young to run’peaceful agitations cut across the country, prior to the 2023 election processes.

The Nigerian Youths dream/vision in this direction achieved some success in the National Assembly. A shining example is the coming of Hon Chijioke Stanislaus Okereke to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly.

Hon Okereke who is in his early 40’s will be representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River federal constituency. He is energetic and an embodiment of vibrancy and commitment which Nigerian youths are canvassing as the qualities to stir the nation out of it’s current political quagmire and economic doldrum.

Hon Stanislaus Okereke, who is an engineer by profession is promising to live up to expectation to both his constituency and Nigeria as a nation.

In his post inauguration address to Nigerians and his constituents, Hon Engr.Okereke described the inauguration was also a reminder of the enormous task of governance that lies ahead of us.

He stated,”The challenges we face as a nation are significant, and the path to progress is riddled with complexities. However, with your steadfast support and active participation, I am confident that we can overcome these hurdles and bring about positive change in our community and beyond”.

‘The role of the National Assembly is pivotal in shaping policies, enacting laws, and ensuring transparency and accountability in governance. It is a responsibility that I do not take lightly, and I pledge to work tirelessly on behalf of our constituency, keeping your best interests at heart”.

Hon Engr.Okereke advised Nigerians to play frontal roles in shaping the nation’s democratic process by being sensitive and active with suggestions and opinions that will guide the politicians.

His words,”As we move forward, I encourage you to actively engage in the democratic process. Your opinions, concerns, and suggestions are invaluable in guiding my decisions and actions. Together, we can foster an environment that nurtures growth, equality, and progress for all”.
