FCDA disclaims online ‘contracts’ account

The Federal Capital Territory Development (FCDA) has disclaimed an online contracts account seeking the cooperation of members of the public for execution of contracts.

Engr Shehu Ahmad, the Executive Secretary, Federal Capital Development Authority stated this in a statement he personally signed on Wednesday.

He described the LinkedIn account as an illegal and fraudulent operation by unscrupulous individuals.

Ahmad called on the public not to fall prey to the scammers , but disregard the social media account, which is being targeted at defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.

According to him, the matter has been reported to the security agencies for further investigation.

The statement reads as, “This is to notify the general public that a “LinkedIn Account”… has been created in my name by some unscrupulous person(s).

“They are using it to solicit the co-operation of the public for execution of contracts in my office.

“Please be informed that those posts purportedly for procurement exercise are not from me.

“The FCDA has a clearly defined procurement process, so I cannot on my own request for tenders/award contracts on the social media.

“Kindly disregard any requests for such as emanating from me on the social media. Apparently, this is designed to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

“I have reported this to the security agencies and investigations are underway. Don’t fall prey to scammers”
