There’s palpable excitement, anxiety and uncontrollable euphoria among the constituents of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency , Abia State as the member representing them is set to roll out massive empowerment and poverty alleviation program to them.
Hon. (Chief) Ibe Okwara Osonwa , member representing the Arochukwu / Ohafia Federal Constituency is already a household name among his constituents due largely to his incessant and incurable penchant for immense care for the welfare of his constituents.
This is not the first time he has embarked upon doling out humongous empowerment items across the length and breadth of the Arochukwu/ Ohafia lands.But this one that is slated for 2 April, 2026 is exceptionally distinct from previous ones.
Moreso, he had taken his time to walk around the various communities ; met and communed with the people ; discovered their challenges and ultimately, came up with reliable cushion on how to palliate their sufferings.
Hon. Osonwa , despite having an elitist parentage and upbringing does not segregate. He loathes seeing people suffering.
His actions and peculiar manner of relating with people amenably obliterate the inherent apparent demarcation between the well – to – do and the hoi polloi .
This official flag – off of his 2026 Empowerment and Poverty Alleviation program will attract the presence of the Executive Governor of Abia State , Dr Alex Otti , OFR ; the indefatigable Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu , FNSE ; traditional and religious leaders ; youth leaders ; women leaders among other critical stakeholders.
The much touted empowerment initiative that is set to take place is a testament to the Hon. Osonwa’s unwavering commitment and superlative support to grassroots development , economic inclusion and sustainable livelihoods for his people.
From reliable information handed down to the press , the program has been described as the most impactful constituency empowerment initiative in recent times.
The program is designed to directly benefit hundreds of constituents across various wards , cutting across youths , farmers , and women , artisans , small – scale entrepreneurs.
Some of the items lined up for distribution include : tricycles ( Keke Napep), motorcycles, sewing machines, hairdressing kits , grinding machines , deep – freezers , refrigerators , cash grants , agricultural inputs , laptops , ICT tools , power generators , etc.
Speaking ahead of the program , Hon. Osonwa noted that the program reflects his campaign promises and his resolve to deliver tangible dividends of democracy.
Also, speaking , Chief Nkem Ajike , a staunch member of the inchoate IBE OKWARA OSONWA PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT ( IOPM) , ” the Honourable Member is working assiduously to ensure that dividends of democracy actually trickle down to the people.

, who cautioned that the electorate should be careful with mischief makers who would attempt to obfuscate voters with fake mouth – watering and outlandish promises at the 2026 general election.
