2027: Barau charges APC stakeholders to unite, mobilise for electoral victory

By Abbanobi-Eku Onyeka

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has called on leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State to strengthen their unity and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Barau gave the charge at the weekend during the inauguration of campaign committees for Dawakin Tofa, Tofa and Rimin Gado Local Government Areas, where he emphasised the need for collective commitment towards achieving the party’s electoral objectives.

He urged the committees to work towards the success of all APC candidates, stressing that the responsibility of securing electoral support should not be left to a few individuals but shared among party leaders, elected representatives and grassroots supporters.

The Deputy President of the Senate expressed appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, party leaders, local government chairmen, legislators and other stakeholders for their support and commitment to the APC, assuring them that the cooperation currently enjoyed by the party would be sustained.

According to a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Barau said the campaign committees were deliberately constituted to accommodate a broad range of stakeholders, including serving and former legislators, party executives, councillors, local government chairmen, new members and respected elders.

He maintained that the political alignment of the Governor, National Assembly members, state legislators and other elected representatives under the APC had created an opportunity for greater coordination of political activities across Kano State.

Barau also expressed confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election prospects, attributing his optimism to assessments by political analysts and the prevailing political situation. He said the President’s first-term foundation would, by the grace of Allah, yield the desired results in another term.

He therefore charged the newly inaugurated committees to take their responsibilities seriously through effective mobilisation and sustained engagement with voters, urging them to work for the emergence of APC candidates from the presidential election down to other elective positions.
