From Enyinna Omoke, Abakaliki

The Chairman of Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Mr.Ajah Chinonso, has applauded the timely intervention of Gov. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru over security issues in Ebonyi state, saying that peace has finally returned to the area following prompt response of Ebonyi state government with security agencies in the state.

The chairman also appreciated  traditional rulers, Town Union leaders, village heads, among others  for playing  significant roles to ensure the security of lives and properties in various communities in Ohaozara LGA.

“Following the security challenges recorded in some parts of Ohaozara some months ago which necessitated the declaration of curfew as a measure to arrest it, I am glad to say that peace has returned to the Local Government.

“However, yesterday being Monday July 10, 2023, some hoodlums and undesirable elements chose to disrupt the peace and tranquillity that have returned to the area council but to the glory of God, the issue was nipped in the bud as our state security agencies intervened swiftly to nullify their attacks and arrested them.

“I want to specially thank our dear Governor and leader, Hon. Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru for his interest in the welfare of Ohaozara LGA.

“The peace recorded would not have been possible without the support and compliance of the security outfits in Ohaozara LGA. Worthy of mention are the Nigeria Army, the Nigeria Police, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the local vigilance groups.

“I thank them immensely for their timely intervention whenever they are called upon.

“Also, I must appreciate our Traditional Rulers, Clergies, Town Union Leaders, Village heads, indubitable stakeholders and lovers of peace in Ohaozara, for assiduously working with me to ensure that the fight against insecurity records tremendous success.

“I thank you my good people of Ohaozara, for your supports aimed at ensuring that Ohaozara is free from criminals and criminality.

“I want you to note that security is everybody’s business and must be treated as a top priority.

I also want to urge all Ohaozara people and residents to always report strange movement(s) around them to the security agencies for when one finger touches the oil, it will definitely stain the other four”.
