Kyari takes over APC, as Adamu absent at NWC meeting

By Chesa Chesa

Deputy National Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Party (APC), Abubakar Kyari, on Monday took over the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling party, as acting National Chairman.

This confirms the widely reported resignation of the National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu a day earlier, along with the National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore.

On Monday, Kyari led some members of the NWC to a meeting in his office at the APC national headquarters in Abuja, after it was noticed that his official car was parked in the slot reserved for the National Chairman.

Kyari came in with the Deputy National Chairman (South) Emma Enukwu; National Vice Chairman (North West) Salihu Lukman; National Vice Chairman (North East) Salihu Mustapha; National Vice Chairman (North Central) Muazu Bawa; National Vice Chairman(South West) Issacs Kekemeke; National Vice Chairman (South East) Ejoroma Arodiogu and the Deputy National Secretary, Barrister Festus Fuanter

Omisore also arrived at the secretariat and joined others in the meeting while Adamu remained conspicuously absent.

Omisore later left the meeting and on his way out, told reporters that he was heading for the residence of Adamu to find out why he was not at the meeting.
