Wike is FCT Minister, Umahi gets Works, as Tinubu assigns portfolios

In a clear departure from the past, President Tinubu has assigned portfolios to Ministers-designate before their formal swearing into office, with former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, becoming the new Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The dates for a Ministerial Retreat for the incoming Ministers and subsequent swearing in at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja ministers are yet to be decided, according to presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, who unveiled the portfolios to State House correspondents, on Wednesday.

While the Senior Minister of Petroleum Resources has been left vacant, the full list of Ministers and their portfolios are as follows:

Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy — Bosun Tijani

Minister of State, Environment and Ecological Management — Ishak Salako

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy — Wale Edun

Minister of Marine and Blue Economy — Bunmi Tunji
