OPM engages primary school children on free skill acquisition.

The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM) worldwide, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere has disclosed the plans to start training pupils of OPM free primary school on free skills acquisition.

The clergy disclosed this yesterday in Port Harcourt, when he donated a plot of land, physical cash and bags of rice to widow.

According to the GO, the training will go along way in eliminating restiveness in part of the Nigerian youths. 

He said; “This is a catch them young programme which will provide skills for the children at the primary school level. This implies that by the time they will get to the secondary school, they already have an income generation skills.

“We have decided to introduce skills from primary school so that before they enter or graduate from secondary school they would have become very perfect in their desired skills” Apostle Chinyere said.

He revealed that the pupils will be trained on furniture making, generator repairs, car painting, tailoring, electrical/ electronics repairs, food and nutrition, others.

Also that the purpose of the training is for the beneficiaries pupils to be acquainted with useful skills that can help them to be financially independent by the time they get to tertiary institution.

“When they enter university, they enter with skills, they are already feeding themselves without depending on their parents for feeding.

It is also pertinent to state that this gesture will go a long way to stop those youths roaming the street for lack of job after graduation from the university. They will not go into crime because they already have skills that can sustain them in life.

“When they graduate from university, while they are waiting for their dream job they will not be pressured to go into crime for survival because they are already making money”.

Chinyere added that “Is another crime control measures which will help bring about peace, progress, prosperity and national development and the programme will be funded through tithes and offerings from OPM church”.
