Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has presented empowerment tools and interest-free loans to over 1,000 women in the state.
Mrs. Soludo made the presentation at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development, Awka, to graduands of the 2023 Skill Acquisition Training sponsored by the Anambra Women United (AWU), Chicago, USA.
Aside from beneficiaries that got interest-free loans, others were given equipment ranging from baking oven, sewing machines, make-up kits, and hair making gadgets, among others.
Mrs Soludo commended AWU for heeding the investment home call, most importantly, for supporting the human capital development focus of the present administration.
She urged the beneficiaries to take the privilege seriously and use the opportunity to better their lot, that of their families and the state in general.
In her remarks, the representative of AWU, Lady Uju Emechebe, said that the association has made crucial interventions in supporting the health sector, noting that the empowerment programme was a way of supporting the human capital focus of the present administration in Anambra.
She said that the group will do more to support the state and urged the beneficiaries to be productive with what they have been given for the good of themselves, their families, and the state.
