Imo FA suspends Ekeocha

The Executive Committee of the Imo State Football Association has announced the suspension of Chief Sunny Ekeocha from the body for six months over an alleged misconduct. 

Recall that Ekeocha is on the Executive Board of the FA, representing Owerri zone.

However, Chairman of the FA, Barr. Ifeanyi Dike, disclosed the suspension to sports journalists after an emergency meeting of the Board at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Tuesday.

Dike said that the Board in an overwhelming decision, held that Ekeocha’s action ran foul of the statutes and was suspended as a deterrent against further abuse of football governing rules.

He pointed out that  Ekeocha stands suspended from all  football activities in Imo State for  the next six months, subject to review depending on his level of remorsefulness.

In another development, the Board announced Andrew Onyedikachi Ihedibu, as the new football Administrator for Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area with immediate effect. 

Ihedibu replaced Johnny Nwadioha. 

He is expected to improve football activities within LGA.
