The Tor Tiv Orcivirigh Prof James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse CFR has appealed to the people of Sankera to use the death of Abu King Shuluwa to restore permanent peace in the area.
The Tor Tiv, who made the appealed in a valediction service at his palace in Gboko on Thursday, said that Tor Sankera desired to have peace in the area even if at the cost of his life.
“Since he had fulfilled his mission on earth, it becomes imperative for all the leaders and youth in Sankera to grant his wish”.
The Tor Tiv prayed to God to find a suitable person to continue with his efforts of uniting the people to end the insecurity that devastated the economic backbone of the Tiv nation.
Speaking, Tor Jemngbagh, HRH David Afaityô, Tor Kwande, HRH Ambrose Iyortyer and Tor Lobi, and HRH Moses Anagende among others who spoke variously lauded the immeasurable contributions of the late Tor Sankera and prayed to God to grant his soul eternal rest.
Highlights of the event were the beating of the traditional Indyer to officially announce the death of the Tor Sankera to his ancestors and Tiv elders across the Tiv Kingdom as directed by the Begha u Tiv himself who is the custodian of Tiv culture and tradition.
Preaching, Rev Nehemiah Hembaor urged all to be fully prepared by being prayerful so that when the time comes they will answer the call of the Almighty God.
The valedictory session was attended by all graded traditional rulers in Tiv land, including Special Adviser on Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr Denis Akura among others.
