SON MSC dept secures IAS accreditation for 4 management system standards

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria’s (SON) Management Systems Certification (MSC) department has been granted accreditation by the International Accreditation Service (IAS) for four globally recognized Management System Standards.

The AUTHORITY reports that the feat is said to be a testament to dedication to quality and best practices put in place in SON MSC.

A statement issued by the organisation listed the four Management System Standards as : Quality Management System (QMS) ISO 9001:2015, Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) ISO 45001:2018, Environmental Management System (EMS) ISO 14001:2015 and Food Safety Management System (FSMS) ISO 22000:2018.

The remarkable accomplishment follows a rigorous assessment process conducted by IAS, verifying that the SON MSC department’s operations and audits which are conducted by SON auditors, comprehensively meet the stringent requirements of these international standards.

The accreditation signifies the department’s unwavering commitment to: delivering exceptional quality in all its services, upholding the highest standards in occupational health and safety and minimizing environmental impact through responsible practices.

Others are ensuring food safety and quality across the supply chain and adhering to industry-leading benchmarks in the aerospace, defense, and transportation sectors.

Expressing delight over the development, Engr Obiageli P. Egbuciem, Acting Director, SON MSC department declared that the accreditation is a badge of honour for the SON MSC department and a global recognition to the organisation.

She further stated that “this accreditation not only recognizes the efforts of the SON MSC department but also underscores the proficiency and expertise of SON auditors, whose meticulous evaluations played a significant role in achieving this milestone.

“Their dedication to upholding industry standards and conducting thorough audits has been instrumental in ensuring the department’s adherence to best practices.”

She concluded by saying that “It’s a direct reflection of our team’s relentless pursuit of excellence and unwavering commitment to international best practices. We are incredibly proud of this achievement, and it serves as a catalyst for further advancements in our journey towards continuous improvement.”
