Anambra tricycle owners, riders want Gov Soludo to set up security monitoring units

From Isaac Ojo, Awka

Tricycle owners and riders in Anambra State have appealed to Gov Charles Soludo to urgently establish Security Monitoring Units across the state.

They said this has become imperative so as to checkmate the criminal activities of tricycle snatchers in the state, especially in the urban areas.

The Awka-South LGA Chairman of the group, Prince Collins Ozojiofor, made the appeal when members converged to pay their last respect to the 37 year old operator, Mr. Chinweike Nwaigbo, who was recently shot dead by unknown gunmen in Awka while on duty.

The chairman described the unbridled attacks, maiming and killing of members of the group in various parts of the state as unacceptable.

He urged Gov Soludo to put adding  more efforts in the fight against crime and criminalities in Anambra State.

Prince Ozojiofor assured that the the leadership of the association would not hesitate in contributing their own quota in riding the state off hoodlums who are threatening their lives on daily basis.

He however appealed for calm among operators while waiting for government’s action.
