Residents of Odu Ward II in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State went wild in jubilant mood as John Urah, the local government Caretaker Chairman, initiated the long-awaited grading of the Ajikpome-Okoda-Odu-Anana road.
The groundbreaking ceremony, marked by celebration and anticipation, symbolizes a significant step forward for the community’s ease of transporting goods and services to and fro.
The Ajikpome-Okoda-Odu-Anana road has been on the front burner for the communities for years, with its deplorable state causing inconvenience and hindrance to movement of farm produce.
During the flag-off ceremony, Urah expressed his gratitude to the community for their patience and support, emphasizing the importance of the road in fostering economic growth and social interaction between communities.
The Chairman urged the people to continue in their support for the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, assuring that the government will continue to bring dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots
Local residents, community heads including the Gbadaligi of Ajiolo, filled with hope and excitement, hailed the initiative by the Caretaker Chairman. Many expressed their gratitude to the governor, Usman Ododo, the state Auditor General, Yakubu Okala for prioritizing their needs and delivering on their campaign promises. They believe that the road will not only enhance transportation but also attract trade to surrounding communities
