The Diocesan Bishop of Lagos, Anglican Communion, the Rt. Rev. Ifedola Senasu Gabriel Okupevi has stated that apart from a commemorative purposes; the resurrection of Christ should bring about transformation in individuals and of course bring about national rebirth.
Okupevi made the disclosure in his Easter Message to the nation and indeed to the world.
He said “Apart from a commemorative purposes; the resurrection of Christ should bring about transformation in individuals and of course bring about national rebirth.”
Speaking further he said “The transformation that comes with knowing Christ must permeate every facet of our lives as a Country. Not only do we need to renew our minds, this nation and her people needs a complete change of attitudes and habits. I am not calling for a window dressing national rebirth but a genuine sober reflection that cut across all facets of our national lives and all strata of human endeavours.
“Our attitudes toward human lives must change, killings in whatever disguise must stop, kidnapping for ransom or for ritual purposes must stop. Shedding of innocent blood must stop. Looting and stealing of Nation’s wealth must stop, stealing of our crude oil must stop. The welfare of the poor citizens of this country must be taken seriously. The Government must not politicized and trivialize the issues that have to do with the lives of innocent citizens,” he added.
He disclosed that a nation where both the leader and the led exhibit greed, uncontrollable passion for power, position and accumulation of wealth, corruption and avarice cannot make significance progress.
“So beloved, as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, have faith in Jesus Christ. It doesn’t matter how long that affliction in your life might have lasted, be concerned about how drastic and quick your deliverance can be in Jesus Name.”
Okupevi further stated that there is nothing too hard for God to do.“There is no situation that is too bad that God cannot reversed. “I’m the God of all flesh is there anything impossible for me”? (Jer. 32:27). The worst situation on earth can be reversed through the power of God.”
The revered man of God added that God always reserves His best for the last and that God does not do mega miracles in a hurry; “He does great things at the unexpected time and at His own time and in His own way.
“One act of God can counteract and render futile and useless the effort and activities of the devil.
