Shettima presents Mbah with public service award, as Gov pledges more road projects in Enugu

Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has received a public service award for good governance, with a pledge to accelerate road infrastructure projects across the State.

The award presented to Mbah by Vice-President Kashim Shettima during the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja over the weekend, was organized by office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Speaking to newsmen afterwards, the Governor said the recognition would serve as a catalyst for intensified efforts as pledged to continue improving both rural and urban roads across the State.

While expressing gratitude for the NEAPS recognition, Mbah said “we’re very grateful that our modest efforts in revamping our roads are gaining some recognition, so for us the award is a mark that we are doing the right thing.

“Success abhors complacency, and this is going to spur us to do even more. So as we leave here today, we’re going to hit the road to ensure that all our roads in Enugu states are paved, both the rural roads and the urban roads.

“Our work is far from done. This is just going to give us a kick we need to hit the road, running.”
