The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu,has been reported dead.
A source close to the family said he died Thursday, July
24 at an Abuja hospital.
He has been battling with terminal illness.
The Orji Owerri – born technocrat cum politician relunctantly accepted the post of President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in April 2023 through a by-election, based on the fact that it was zoned to Imo state after the demise of Professor George Obiozor, who was officially elected to serve a four year tenure, on behalf of Imo state.
Born in September 1942, Chief Iwuanyanwu died at the ripe age of 82.
