Enugu Council Election- PDP is the party to beat in Oji River LGA, says Hon. John Okefi

The Councillor representing Oji River Urban ward IV, Hon. John Okefi, has expressed optimism that the Peoples Democratic Party will win in all the 20 electoral wards in the council area.

He said Oji River local government area will remain a PDP controlled local government area based on the harmonious relationship existing among the political gladiators and the grassroots.

Hon. Okefi gave this hint while speaking with newsmen after he was returned unopposed to contest for a second term in the forthcoming OjI River councillorship election,scheduled to hold in October, this year.

He said, “We are working together to ensure that PDP remains the ruling party in Oji River local government area. We have a culture of reaching out to the grassroots in whatever comes from the state government.

“Oji River is one of the most peaceful council areas in Enugu state because the PDP stakeholders does everything with agreement.”

He described the present administration in the state led by Governor Peter Mbah as God sent and urged him to remain focussed in his agenda for even development of the state.

Also speaking to newsmem at Oji River l local gpvernment headquarter thereafter, the Electoral Officer for Oji River PDP Councillorship primaries, Prof. Godwin Udeuhele described the party primaries throughout the 20 electoral wards in Oji River local government area as very peaceful.

The Returning Officer,vMr Emeka Aneke corroborated Udeuhele’s view, stating that most of the councillors were returned unopposed.
