2027: APC COLLAPSES AS AMADI TRAIN SURGES ON WITH OVER 300 DECAMPEES

In a shocking move, over 300 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State have resigned from the party to join forces with Dr. Chima Mathew Amadi’s The Movement (TMO), a non-governmental organization committed to grassroots development and humanitarian work.

It will be recalled that just last month, key members of the State Working Committee of APC in Imo, alongside some critical leaders, dumped the party to join TMO. This includes Barr. Uche Nwosu Former State Legal Adviser, Cajetan Duke, the former Publicity Secretary of the APC in Imo State, and Okenze Blyden Amajirionwu KSM, a former state lawmaker among many others . The latest defection brings the total number of APC members who have joined forces with TMO in recent months to over 500.

The defectors, who include local government chairmen, councilors, and other stakeholders, were drawn to TMO’s genuine interest in bettering the lives of Imo people. They cited Dr. Amadi’s commitment to grassroots development, empowerment of women and youth, and his vision for a more prosperous Imo State as reasons for their decision. According to them, the APC has failed to deliver on its promises, and it is time for a change.

As the APC struggles to come to terms with this massive defection, Dr. Amadi’s TMO is poised to become a major force for positive change in Imo State. The organization’s focus on humanitarian work and community development has resonated with many Imo residents, who are eager for a change from the status quo.

The defectors were received warmly by Hon. Onwukwe Chukwudi Henry and the TMO leadership. The event, which took place at the TMO secretariat in Owerri, was marked by fanfare, with the defectors publicly renouncing their membership of the APC and pledging their support for TMO’s initiatives.

Dr. Amadi, who is known for his philanthropic efforts and community development initiatives, has been gaining popularity in Imo State in recent months. His August Journey, a statewide tour that took him to over 15 communities, was widely acclaimed, and his donations to women’s groups and community development projects have endeared him to many.

The mass defection is seen as a significant boost to TMO’s efforts to bring about positive change in Imo State. With the APC losing a substantial number of its members, the party’s grip on Imo State may be loosening. Political analysts are watching the situation closely, as it may have far-reaching implications for the state’s political landscape.

As the defectors settle into their new role as partners of TMO, they are expected to play key roles in the organization’s initiatives. With their experience and knowledge of the local politics, they are poised to make a significant impact on the lives of Imo people.

Prominent among the defectors are Okenze Engr. Paul Opara, immediate past APC Zonal Chairman of APC, Owerri Zone, Hon. Udo Agoha, former Commissioner for Agriculture and State Coordinator Big Tent, Imo State, Hon. Titus Anyanwu, Okenze Henry Unegbu, Hon Chinenye Ezurike, immediate past Chairmanship Aspirant in the just concluded Local Government Council election, Ezinihitte, Princess Julieth Anyanwu, Engr Fred Kamalu, Dr. Uzor Mmezi, ADP State State Chairman, Engr. Paul Ejiogu and many others too numerous to mention.
