The APC Grassroots Governance Group APC G3 on Monday said the recent outburst by Alhaji Sule Lamido, former Governor of Jigawa State, shows the anti-Tinubu coalition is becoming desperate.
The former Governor on live television accused President Bola Tinubu of supporting the annulment of the June 12, 1993, presidential election.
He alleged that President Tinubu only rose to prominence after the formation of NADECO and claimed that Tinubu’s mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, mobilised market women to back the annulment.
APC G3 in a press statement by the National Coordinator, Amechi Chuks. Oyema said Lamido’s outburst may be one of the several antics by the coalition to vent their frustration as Nigerians have refused to see them as credible opposition to the current administration.
The Support Group noted that Nigerians are beginning to see the coalition as a group of people who cannot survive outside political office.
“Remember one of them who was Speaker for 8 years, Governor for 8 years and Super Minister for 8 years saying he is hungry just 2 years out of power. They want to continue to feed fat on Nigerians.
“For another leader of the coalition, the people of Southern Kaduna are in a hurry to forget his 8 years in power.
“While for another of them, Nigerians can not forget how he managed the privatisation process during his time in office. These are the people telling Nigerians they have a solution to our economic crisis.
“Hence, we in APC G3 believe they may be working with Lamido and several others to get back at the President who is concerned with dealing with the fundamental issues bedevilling the country.
“Nigerians cannot be deceived, the bold initiatives may be painful for now, but they are necessary to give our country a better and sound economic foundation,” APC G3 added.
