Southern Senators mourn passing of Awujale of Ijebuland

The Southern Senators Forum has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona, Ogbagba II, the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, who died at the remarkable age of 91.

In a press statement from the Chairman of the Forum, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru Monday, the Forum described Oba Adetona as a symbol of dignity, courage, and unwavering commitment to the progress and unity of his people. With over six decades on the throne, he was one of Nigeria’s longest-reigning and most revered monarchs.
