A nation grieves: Leaders pay Tribute to Muhammed Buhari

The House of Representatives paid glowing tribute to late former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari at plenary. The tributes were led by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Benjamin Kalu.

Kalu described President Buhari as a lover of due process. “There is a bit of Buhari in all of us,” he said, wearing the former President’s favorite attire.

The Deputy Speaker noted that former President Buhari signed landmark laws in Nigeria. His legacy continues to shape the country’s progress.

Hon. Sada Soli described the loss of former President Buhari as the loss of an enigmatic leader. “Late President Buhari was a moral compass to many,” he said.

Hon. Abubakar Hassan Laraba praised former President Buhari as a leader per excellence. “We will miss our dear President. We will miss his doggedness,”he said.

Hon Lanre Okunola described President Buhari as a patriot. He noted that Buhari was a leader who was not flamboyant but very simple.

Hon.Ahmed Jaha said former President Buhari was a man of integrity with respect for the rule of law. He commended the former President for rescuing the North East from Boko Haram.

Several lawmakers shared personal tributes, including Mr. Ahmed Wase and Hon. James Faleke. They praised former President Buhari’s leadership and legacy.

The Deputy Speaker, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, closed the tribute with a solemn prayer for the repose of late former President Muhammadu Buhari’s soul.
