By Daniel Tyokua

The chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Christopher Maikàlangu said next year’s election would give him an opportunity to consolidate his achievements of previous years.

This is as he declared that his personal desire and priority is to deliver dividends of democracy that will continue to be democratic and acceptable to the whole residents.

Maikàlangu said this when he received certificate of return from the All Progressives Congress (APC) national secretariat in Abuja, Wednesday.

The chairman, who won APC primary election, recently to contest for the second term comes February, 2026 urged residents to support him a gain to do more for them.

He admitted that it was not yet time for campaign for his relection, but assured that if re-elected he would do more for entire AMAC residents.

Maikàlangu urged party faithful to unite for a better AMAC, saying there is no need for division in the party.

“The Certificate of Return has assured me that I am the APC candidate for AMAC Chairmanship election come 2026. At the APC, we are one family. I urge my supporters to continue supporting the APC. I urge others who contested against me to join hands with me to move AMAC forward.

“As you can see, everyone here is happy. I guess it’s time for us to go into action. Almost all the other contestants are my friends, my brothers. I’ve seen them in person and we are one family and I’ve asked them to join me. Whatever is there, we are all together. So I guess we are going to work together.

“The Minister of FCT has repeatedly said that it is operation show your scorecard. It’s operation show your voter’s card. Not only scorecard, show your voter’s card. You cannot tell me that you are with me when you don’t have voter’s card.

“So I’m sending this message to all my lovers that they should go and get their voter’s card so that in this coming election, we shall deliver APC 100% in the FCT. I am calling on all other contestants, all other aspirants, that we should join our hands and get it correctly this time around. APC, this time around, we are going to make it, inshallah.

“I appeal to all the residents of the FCT that they should give me their support again, so that where we have stopped, we will continue giving people dividends of democracy. Whatever I’ve done for my people, if they like it, they should vote for me. It’s what you did for your people that will make them to vote for you and I’ve done it for them.”
