In an exclusive interview with newsmen, over the weekend, Prince Paul O. Agbonlahor, Chairman and CEO of the Lahor Group, opened up about his multifaceted conglomerate, the inspiration behind Shallipopi’s hit song “Lahor,” Nigeria’s business environment, and his perspective on politics ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Agbonlahor revealed that Shallipopi, a viral Edo musician, was inspired by their strong bond and his philanthropic efforts. “Shallipopi is my boy, we are family,” he said. “I personally inspire young talent from Edo and beyond. ‘Lahor’ as a brand has grown into a phenomenal identity across several spheres.”

On the business environment in Nigeria and the US, Agbonlahor noted that investing in the US is generally easier due to its stable regulatory framework, strong legal system, and efficient infrastructure. In contrast, investing in Nigeria comes with higher risks but also higher growth potential, particularly in sectors like tech and agriculture.

Agbonlahor emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation, empowerment, and global excellence, highlighting the Lahor Group’s diversified portfolio, which includes, Lahor Behavioral Service, Lahor Lounge in the US, Lahor Luxury Apartments in Abuja, Lahor Music Worldwide, Lahor Global Magazine, Lahor Waters, Lahor Films, Lahor Farms, Lahor Podcast and BP Omega Oil and Gas

On Edo State politics, Agbonlahor praised the current administration under Governor Okpebholo, noting the transformation in the state. He also emphasized the importance of empowering Nigerian youth and industries, believing in their untapped potential.

As for the 2027 elections, Agbonlahor offered a reflective view, stating that the choice is ultimately up to Nigerian voters. “No matter the advice you give, Nigerians will vote their conscience.”
