Respite has finally come to Mr. Ndubuisi Duruaku, the blind husband of Lady Chiamaka Duruaku who delivered a set of twin baby girls last June through Caesarian operation but were held in the hospital for two months following non payment of an outstanding bill of 600,000( six hundred thousand Naira) as a human rights organization, Stand For Humanity Foundation, paid off the bill last weekend.
has paid the hospital delivery bill of twin girls, Akuyoma and Nwakaego Duruaku after two months of their delivery.
Speaking to news men in Owerri on Monday he founder of the organization, Chidiebube Okeoma, informed that the twins, Akuyoma and Nwakaego were delivered two months ago, June 1 but were unable to leave the hospital because of outstanding delivery charge of N600,000.
Okeoma, a Journalist and humanitarian lamented that the kids visually impaired father, Ndubuisi Duruaku and mother, Chiamaka Duruaku, were unable to raise the funds hence their prolonged two months stay at the hospital after being discharged.
He expressed gratitude to God and good spirited Nigerians for assisting his organization who on hearing the pathetic story quickly stepped into the matter on August 1st and after two days, the funds were raised, payments made and the babies and their mother joyfully redischarged and driven home by the organization with enough food stuff bought both for the twins and their family and reasonable cash given to the nursing mother.
According to Ekeoma, “we are happy to announce that two months old twin girls, Akuyoma and Nwakaego Duruaku, held at TotalCare Hospital at Akwakuma in Owerri because of outstanding delivery bill of N600, 000 have been taken home by our organization, Stand For Humanity Foundation.
“Our Organization, Stand For Humanity Foundation, stepped into the matter on August 1st and by August 3rd the outstanding N600,000 was paid by a compassionate Nigerian who preferred to remain anonymous.
“We drove them home at Akabo in the Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State and bought them food stuff that would last for months, babies food, diapers, provisions and gave them cash from the support other compassionate Nigerians gave.
“Last Sunday, we took them for a thanksgiving service at the Redeemed Christian church of God, King’s Court Mega Tabernacle Parish at Orji in Owerri North LGA in appreciation of God’s immense blessings of using the Foundation and torching the minds of people of goodwill to come to their rescue.
“By this act, we have shown this vulnerable family, love and demonstrated that humanity is kind and not wickedness. Our Organization, Stand For Humanity Foundation, going forward is interested in these kids welfare. When it is time for them to go to school, they will go to school.
“We thank the management of the hospital for at least saving the lives of these babies and their mother. The woman went through a lot as she was rushed to the facility as an emergency case. Caesarean operation was conducted on her and she was infused eight pits of blood for her to be alive.”
