As part of ongoing efforts to advance sleep health education, research, innovation and consumer wellbeing in Nigeria, leading sleep solutions company, Mouka Limited, recently hosted separate high-level engagements with the leadership of the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy (NSP) and the National Association of Orthopaedic and Manual Therapists (NAOMT).
Staged consecutively at Mouka’s corporate headquarters, the meetings provided an opportunity for the company and the two foremost professional healthcare bodies to review the progress of their long-standing partnerships and chart future collaboration.
The NAOMT delegation was led by the President of NAOMT, Professor Adesola Ojoawo, and included the Vice President, Dr. Funmi Egwu, General Secretary, Dr. Timothy Adeyemi, Faculty Member, Professor Bidemi Tella, and Faculty Member, Professor Ayoola Aiyegbusi.
On the other hand, the NSP delegation was led by its National President, Dr. Felix Odusanya, and included the Vice President, NSP Lagos Chapter, Dr. Adeyoola Adeoye, and past NSP Public Relations Officer, Dr. Goke Akinfela.
Welcoming the delegations, Mouka’s Managing Director, Mr Dimeji Osingunwa, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to improving the quality of life of Nigerians through innovative sleep solutions and sustained consumer education on the critical role of quality sleep in overall wellbeing.
A major highlight of both meetings was the review of joint initiatives undertaken over the years to educate Nigerians on the importance of healthy sleep habits.
These initiatives included annual commemorations of World Sleep Day, public awareness campaigns, media engagements, health advocacy programmes and collaborative activities such as the First Baby of the Year initiative – all aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and improved wellbeing among Nigerians.
The parties also discussed the development of innovative sleep products co-conceived with valuable contributions from physiotherapy and musculoskeletal health experts. These collaborations have enabled Mouka to continuously improve its products to align with global ergonomic standards and evolving consumer needs.
Another key area of discussion was the ongoing and future research initiatives by the NAOMT, aimed at further validating the effectiveness, ergonomic compliance, and health benefits of Mouka’s product portfolio.
The parties agreed that evidence-based research remains critical to helping consumers make informed decisions about sleep products and to strengthening public confidence in solutions that promote better sleep and musculoskeletal health.
Speaking on the engagements, Mouka’s MD noted that the partnerships with NSP and NAOMT continue to distinguish the company within Nigeria’s sleep industry, noting, “Mouka’s mission goes beyond manufacturing mattresses and sleep products. As advocates of healthy living, we recognise that quality sleep is one of the fundamental pillars of wellbeing, alongside nutrition and exercise.
“Our collaborations with NSP and NAOMT have enabled us to provide credible sleep education, develop scientifically informed products and promote healthier lifestyles among Nigerians.”
Both associations acknowledged the progress made through the partnerships and expressed commitment to expanding future collaborations in consumer education, professional research, product development and public health advocacy.
A significant outcome of the discussions was the reaffirmation of the exclusive endorsements granted to Mouka by both professional bodies, with Mouka the only sleep solutions brand in Nigeria to enjoy the exclusive endorsement of both NSP and NAOMT.
These endorsements followed rigorous evaluations of Mouka’s manufacturing processes, product quality, ergonomic compliance and commitment to consumer wellbeing.
Medical and physiotherapy experts have consistently recognised Mouka’s products for supporting proper spinal alignment, pressure distribution and healthy sleep posture, all of which contribute to improved physical and mental wellbeing.
The endorsements further reinforced Mouka’s position as a trusted leader in Nigeria’s sleep industry and as a pioneer in promoting sleep health awareness nationwide.
As the company continues to innovate and expand its offerings, it remains committed to working closely with healthcare professionals, researchers and industry stakeholders to ensure that more Nigerians enjoy the life-changing benefits of quality sleep.
