Crown Allied Global Realty and Homes Limited has unveiled The Embassy, a 2,400-unit smart estate in Wasa District of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, as part of efforts to bridge Nigeria’s housing deficit.
The 101-hectare development, located in Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, was launched at a groundbreaking ceremony, with the company saying the project will provide affordable housing while stimulating economic activities in the area.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Gbadewole Amos Kayode, said the choice of Wasa District was strategic, describing it as an emerging informal-sector and commercial hub with access to roads, electricity and water.
Kayode, who is also Vice Chairman of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria, REDAN, Abuja Chapter, said the project would contribute to addressing the country’s housing deficit, which he put at about 14.98 million units.
He said The Embassy would operate as a smart, 100 per cent solar-powered estate, with electric vehicle charging systems built into the houses, while 20 hectares would be dedicated to commercial activities, including shops, hotels, pharmaceutical and electronics businesses.
The developer said the estate offers various housing options, including two-bedroom blocks of flats, three-bedroom terraces, four-bedroom semi-detached and fully detached houses, as well as five-bedroom fully detached homes.
Kayode said the project also caters for low-income earners through flexible payment arrangements, with land prices starting from 7.5 million naira, while prospective homeowners can access mortgage financing backed by the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria.
He added that the development is expected to create more than 3,000 direct and indirect jobs, stressing that the project is designed not only to provide housing but also to boost economic activities and employment within the informal sector.
