Engr. Ramat applauds Masari for immortalising Tinubu’s mother through Islamic learning centre

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Abdullahi Ramat, has lauded the Special Adviser to the President on Political and Other Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Masari, for unveiling the Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji International Islamic Learning and Research Centre, describing it as a fitting tribute to the late mother of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Ramat gave the commendation in a statement issued in Abuja following the annual prayer gathering held on June 21 at the National Mosque in memory of the late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji.

According to him, the event brought together a high-profile gathering that included Vice President Kashim Shettima, governors of Yobe, Borno, Jigawa, Kebbi and Sokoto states, ministers, the Deputy President of the Senate, members of the National Assembly, heads of government agencies, traditional rulers, Islamic scholars and other prominent Nigerians.

He noted that more than 1,350 Islamic scholars from across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory participated in the programme, reciting the Holy Qur’an and offering prayers for the repose of the late Mogaji’s soul as well as for peace, unity and progress in Nigeria.

Ramat said Masari had consistently sustained the legacy of the late matriarch through charitable projects and community development initiatives. He disclosed that the presidential aide had funded and delivered over 250 boreholes across Northern Nigeria as a form of Sadaqatul Jariyah in her honour, providing access to clean water for thousands of residents.

He added that Masari had also commenced the construction of a grand mosque in Kaduna as part of efforts to promote faith-based development and community service.

The APC chieftain described the unveiling of the Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji International Islamic Learning and Research Centre as the most significant milestone in the legacy projects.

According to him, the centre is envisioned as a world-class digital institution designed to advance Islamic scholarship through science, technology and innovation while connecting scholars, researchers and innovators from across the globe.

“The centre, which will be powered by Artificial Intelligence and accessible worldwide, is expected to serve as a repository of Islamic knowledge, research and intellectual development for future generations,” he said.

Ramat further revealed that Masari announced during the event that he would personally fund the construction of the centre without seeking financial support from individuals or organisations.

He said the decision had drawn admiration from many participants, who viewed the initiative as a demonstration of loyalty, selflessness and commitment to preserving the legacy of the late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji.

According to him, attendees described the projects undertaken in her memory as unique and unprecedented, noting that few public officials had personally financed such large-scale initiatives linked to the legacy of a sitting President’s family.

Ramat maintained that beyond his official responsibilities, Masari’s actions reflected a deep commitment to the ideals and vision of President Tinubu’s administration.

He added that the memorial gathering was not only a celebration of the life and contributions of the late Mogaji but also a reflection of the enduring impact of charity and service to humanity.

The event concluded with prayers for the late Mogaji and for President Tinubu, with participants seeking divine guidance, wisdom and strength for the President as he continues to lead the country.
