Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on his re-election, describing the victory as a strong endorsement of good governance and the growing confidence of Nigerians in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ododo said the outcome of the election reflected the satisfaction of Ekiti people with Oyebanji’s administration and their desire to sustain the progress recorded under his leadership.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, the Kogi governor said Oyebanji had earned the trust and support of the people through people-centred policies, prudent resource management, infrastructural development and inclusive governance.
According to him, the governor’s return to office demonstrates that the people of Ekiti appreciate effective leadership and have chosen continuity and stability.
Ododo also linked the electoral outcome to what he described as the impressive performance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the administration’s policies at the national level have continued to strengthen public confidence in the ruling party.
“The people of Ekiti State have spoken loudly through the ballot. They have rewarded performance, vision and commitment to service. Governor Oyebanji is doing well in Ekiti State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is providing purposeful leadership for Nigeria, and the people have once again demonstrated that they know the party they can trust,” Ododo said.
He added that the victory was not only significant for Oyebanji and the APC in Ekiti State but also for the party nationwide.
“This victory is not only a triumph for Governor Oyebanji and the APC in Ekiti State, but also a strong affirmation of the confidence Nigerians continue to place in progressive governance and responsible leadership,” he said.
The Kogi governor maintained that the election result further underscored Nigerians’ trust in the APC’s ability to deliver democratic dividends, strengthen institutions, improve security and expand economic opportunities.
He expressed confidence that Oyebanji’s new term would consolidate achievements already recorded in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and economic development.
Ododo wished the Ekiti governor wisdom, strength and success in his second term and reaffirmed the commitment of Kogi and Ekiti states to continued partnership and cooperation.
