Governor Kefas’ international award long overdue – Special Adviser

The recent International Merit Award bestowed on Governor Agbu Kefas by the Republic of Liberia has been described as long overdue, judging by the Governor’s excellent performance in the past three years.

Special adviser to the governor on business development and non-indigene convener, Hon. High Chief Obi Chris stated this while speaking with our correspondent in Jalingo on Wednesday.

He noted that Governor Kefas deserves more than awards as far as leadership was concerned, stressing that his unprecedented achievements in the state speak Volumes in all ramifications.

In his congratulatory message, the special adviser disclosed that the governor has written his name on Gold as the first chief executive in the state to receive such recognition outside Nigeria.

He lauded governor Kefas on his five ‘metra’ developmental projects particularly on education, security, agriculture, health and infrastructures among other several interventions in the state which according to him has singled the governor out among his contemporaries.

Hon. High Chief Obi who is also the President General and leader of Non-indigenes in Taraba State said the governor does not need to overstretch himself for the 2027 general election noting that with many Tarabans and non-indigenes vote, the road for his reelection was assured.

He encouraged the Governor to look beyond 2027 oppositions and election, while pointing out that his developmental projects currently in place and in addition to regular payment of salary to workers and pensions/gratuities of retired senior citizens had endured him into the hearts of the people.

He called for more support from the governor to enable him achieve more meaningful developmental projects in the state.

Hon. High Chief Obi also lauded the people and government of the Republic of Liberia for the honour done to a deserving loyal leader and people’s oriented governor with the prestigious golden image award.

However, the recent award of governor Agbu Kefas was organized by the national secretariat of the organization in collaboration with the Liberia crusaders for peace and in association with the government of Liberia celebrating outstanding individuals, institutions from across world whose selfless services has advanced global peace, security, human dignity and leadership, among others.
