Tinubu vows to replicate Abuja infrastructure nationwide

By Daniel Tyokua

President Bola Tinubu has promised to replicate the infrastructure transformation underway in the nation’s capital across every part of the country.

He gave the assurance on Tuesday, during the inauguration of the newly completed transitway N2 linking the Central Business District to Wuse District, including two bridges.

Tinubu represented by President of the senate, Godswill Akpabio, said the Renewed Hope Agenda was keen to delivering roads, bridges, railways and other critical infrastructure nationwide to stimulate economic growth, improve connectivity and enhance the quality of life for Nigerians.

He described the new transitway as more than just a road project, saying it represents progress and demonstrates the government’s resolve to build infrastructure that unlocks economic opportunities and supports sustainable development.

The president said the project is a key component of the Abuja Master Plan, designed to reduce traffic congestion, improve urban mobility and connect major commercial districts within the nation’s capital.

Tinubu lauded the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr Nyesom Wike, for driving the ongoing transformation of Abuja through the faithful implementation of the Abuja Master Plan.

“For years, commuters travelling between Wuse and the Central Area endured frustrating traffic gridlock and lost productive hours. Today, that challenge has been significantly addressed.

“By reducing travel time and connecting these key districts, we are opening up new commercial corridors and creating fresh opportunities for businesses and residents,” he said.

“You have contributed to something greater than a roadway. You have contributed to the future of our capital city and given Nigerians another reason to be proud,” he said.

On his part, Wike linked the pace of infrastructure delivery in the FCT to Tinubu’s support, particularly the decision to remove the FCT Administration from the Treasury Single Account, which he said had significantly improved project funding.
