Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has declared that the state remains open to both foreign and local investments, describing Ebonyi as one of the safest destinations for investors.
The governor made the declaration on Sunday at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki while giving an account of his nine-day working visit to China, where he said his delegation held productive engagements with government officials and potential investors.
According to Nwifuru, the visit yielded positive outcomes, with authorities in the Chinese provinces of Hunan and Jiangxi expressing interest in partnering with the Ebonyi State Government to drive economic development.
“The outcome of our visit to China was fruitful. The grace of God upon our life made it possible for us to achieve a lot,” the governor said.
He added that the Chinese government indicated its willingness to invest in the state and collaborate on development initiatives.
The governor attributed the political and economic gains recorded by his administration over the past three years to divine intervention, the support of stakeholders, and the prayers of the people.
“We are not perfect, but we pray for more grace to keep pushing for the great interest of this state. It is the grace of God that has been protecting us and guiding us. Your prayers have been helping us. With your practical support, we have made tangible progress,” he said.
Nwifuru also commended the Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic Diocese, Bishop Ernest Obodo, describing him as a peaceful leader whose disposition has strengthened cooperation between the church and the state.
“I have observed that the Bishop is very calm, peaceful and is a man after God’s own heart. We thank him for coming to worship with us here,” the governor stated.
Addressing political speculation ahead of the 2027 election cycle, Nwifuru urged residents to remain focused on governance, insisting that his administration remains committed to its mandate.
“The wheel of governance is running smoothly till 2031. Let us not worry for nothing; let us continue to believe in God,” he said.
