The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Idemili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Engr. Eric Anyamene, has received the endorsement of stakeholders in the constituency.
Anyamene, who was accompanied by his campaign directors and supporters, was received on arrival by a political leader in the constituency, Chief Maurice Ebo, popularly known as Chinyelugo Ogidi, who led a large crowd to welcome him.
The visit attracted several stakeholders, including members and supporters of other political parties who were said to have moved to the NDC.
The turnout was described by the hosts as a demonstration of support for Anyamene and the party.
Ebo said he had embarked on efforts to mobilise residents of Ogidi into the NDC, citing what he described as the declining influence of other political parties in the Idemili area.
Anyamene expressed satisfaction with the turnout, particularly the presence of people previously associated with the Labour Party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC) and other political parties.
During the visit, the NDC candidate also inspected some polling units in Ogidi and urged residents to comply with the requirements of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to enable them to vote in the January 16, 2027 election.
He encouraged eligible voters to ensure that their electoral documentation was in order so they could exercise their voting rights without hindrance.
