The Amalgamation of Kwararafa Empire and Apa Descendants has endorsed Senator Mohammed Onawo Ogoshi for a second term as the representative of Nasarawa South Senatorial District, urging the people of the district and descendants of the Kwararafa Kingdom across several states to support his re-election in the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was contained in a statement jointly signed by the National Chairman of the group, Chief Oche Agbo; National Women Leader, Olohi Judith Adams; and National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Comrade Aaron Mike Odeh.
According to the group, the decision followed consultations with leaders, elders, youths, women, professionals, traditional rulers and community representatives from the Kwararafa and Apa extraction, who unanimously agreed that Senator Onawo had delivered purposeful and people-centred representation deserving of another term.
The group commended the senator’s legislative performance, describing him as a responsive representative whose interventions have positively impacted education, healthcare, youth empowerment, infrastructure and social development across Nasarawa South.
It also praised his human capital development initiatives, noting that hundreds of youths and women had benefited from empowerment programmes, educational support, vocational training and employment opportunities facilitated during his tenure.
The statement further highlighted Senator Onawo’s contributions in the Senate through the sponsorship and support of bills and motions aimed at promoting national development, strengthening democratic governance and attracting more federal projects to the district.
The amalgamation equally lauded the lawmaker’s relationship with traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth and women groups, saying his inclusive leadership style has promoted peace, unity and harmonious coexistence among the various ethnic groups in the senatorial district.
The group also acknowledged what it described as Senator Onawo’s commitment to community development through projects in education, healthcare, rural infrastructure, water supply and other critical sectors.
Calling for widespread support, the organisation urged residents of Awe, Doma, Keana, Obi, Lafia and Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Areas to rally behind the senator’s re-election bid.
It also appealed to Kwararafa and Apa descendants, as well as Idoma people living in Nasarawa, Benue, Kogi, Plateau, Cross River, Rivers, Ebonyi, Edo and Taraba states to provide moral, political and strategic support for his 2027 campaign.
The group maintained that retaining Senator Onawo would ensure continuity in development, attract greater federal presence to the district and sustain the gains recorded during his current tenure.
Reaffirming its endorsement, the Amalgamation said it remained committed to supporting leaders who demonstrate accountability, inclusiveness, patriotism and dedication to public service, describing Senator Onawo as the most qualified candidate to continue representing Nasarawa South in the Senate.
