FCTA demolishes Guzape garden, guest lodge over security threats

By Daniel Tyokua

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has commenced the demolition of a garden and guest lodge in Guzape District, Abuja, over security concerns following a directive by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

The exercise began on Tuesday at Plot 263, Kpaduwa Village, and is being carried out by the FCTA Department of Development Control.

The operation led by the sector monitor, Mrs. Christy Ogaba, said the facilities were marked for removal over concerns that they posed security threats within the territory.

It added that the property owners and operators were served notice before the exercise commenced.

The action, according to the FCTA, forms part of efforts to address security concerns, enforce development regulations and ensure compliance with government directives.

The administration reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property and strengthening control over physical development across the Federal Capital Territory.
