Member representing Nnewi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Peter Uzokwe, has appointed Mr. Ejike Ndubuizu as his Campaign Director-General (DG) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Uzokwe, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), announced the appointment during the inauguration of a 13-member Campaign Committee.
In his address, the lawmaker highlighted some of his outstanding achievements in the House of Representatives, noting that his representation had positively impacted the three local government areas that make up his constituency.
The legislator, who is widely regarded as a strong voice for his constituents at the National Assembly, maintained that he had made significant contributions across various sectors.
He explained that his decision to seek re-election was aimed at consolidating on his achievements and sustaining the development projects and initiatives he had attracted to the constituency.
Uzokwe said the 13-member Campaign Committee, headed by Ndubuizu, was carefully constituted based on the members’ passion for the growth and development of Nnewi Federal Constituency.
He charged the council members to work tirelessly and mobilise support across the constituency to ensure his overwhelming victory in the January 16, 2027 election.
He expressed confidence that his performance in office would make the campaign task easier for the council.
In his remarks, Ndubuizu, who spoke on behalf of other committee members, expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for finding them worthy of the appointment.
He pledged the council’s commitment to delivering a remarkable electoral performance, declaring that anything less than 50 per cent of the registered votes in the constituency would be unacceptable to the team.
He disclosed that the campaign had adopted the name “OBIKWAA-ONUZO 27,” an acronym derived from Obi/Kwankwaso and Onunkwo Uzokwe Campaign, which he explained literally means that Obi, Kwankwaso, Onunkwo and Uzokwe would open the door of prosperity for Nnewi Federal Constituency in 2027.
Ndubuizu further assured the incumbent lawmaker of the council’s unwavering commitment to his re-election, promising to reach out to communities across the constituency to mobilise massive support for him.
