The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Christopher Maikalangu has dumped his vice, Nasiru Usman, and picked Yusuf Nadabo ahead of the 2026 council’s election.
This came at the sideline of a high-level party meeting, where Maikàlangu expressed his satisfaction with the new choice.
In a statement issued by the chairman’s media aide, Kingsley Madaki on Tuesday, described Nadabo as a “jolly good fellow” in whom he has placed his trust for the second-term bid.
It said Nadabo choice is strategic, given his extensive experience in party politics, governance, and community leadership.
With over two decades of service to the APC, he has built a reputation for loyalty, discipline, and grassroots connection, making him an ideal partner for Maikalangu’s re-election bid.
The statement reads, “The Maikalangu-Nadabo ticket represents continuity, loyalty, and administrative excellence. Nadabo’s impressive portfolio includes roles such as Special Assistant to the AMAC Party Chairman, Personal Assistant to the FCT APC State Chairman, and Director General of the APC National Integrity Movement (ANIM), FCT Chapter.
“Nadabo from Karu Ward and holder of the traditional title of Ciroman Pawan Karu, Nadabo brings a genuine grassroots connection that complements Maikalangu’s leadership.
“The AMAC APC Chairman, Alhaji Muktar Abubakar, extended his gratitude to Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu for his thoughtful decision to pick Hon. Yusuf Mohammed Nadabo as his running mate”.
