2027: Suleiman Joins Dekina/Bassa Reps Race, Unveils Development Agenda

Hon. Abubakar Sadeeq Suleiman has obtained the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency of Kogi State on the platform of the Youth Party.

Speaking shortly after picking the forms, Suleiman said his decision to join the race was inspired by his desire to provide purposeful leadership, inclusive representation, and sustainable development for the people of the constituency.

The aspirant pledged to prioritise agriculture, education, youth empowerment, and community development if elected.

According to him, agriculture remains the backbone of the constituency’s economy, stressing that his administration would introduce modern farming support programmes, improved access to agricultural inputs, better storage facilities, and expanded market opportunities for farmers.

Suleiman also promised to improve educational standards through the provision of better learning facilities, scholarship schemes, teacher support programmes, and vocational and digital skills training for youths.

He further assured residents of his commitment to community-driven projects aimed at improving rural infrastructure, healthcare delivery, access to clean water, and economic opportunities for women and young people.

On insecurity affecting parts of Dekina and Bassa local government areas, particularly Oganenigu Ward, the aspirant expressed concern over recurring attacks and security threats in the communities.

He pledged to collaborate with security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders, and other stakeholders to strengthen local security architecture and protect lives and property.

Suleiman also promised to advocate for increased federal government intervention, improved intelligence gathering, community policing initiatives, and youth engagement programmes to address the root causes of insecurity.

He called on the people of Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency to support his vision for effective representation, peace, unity, and sustainable development.

The aspirant reaffirmed his commitment to transparent leadership, accountability, and people-oriented governance capable of transforming the constituency.
