The Igwe-elect of Amankanu Ohofia Autonomous Community in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State, High Chief Shadrach Ekenedilichukwu Ekpete, has congratulated the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on his emergence as the APC governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The Authority Newspaper recalls that the Hon. Danmalakin-Hausa-led Enugu State APC Governorship Primary Election Committee officially declared Mbah winner of the direct primaries held at the Enugu International Conference Centre on Friday, May 22.
The committee announced that a total of 397,370 accredited APC members across the 260 wards in the state participated in the direct primaries conducted on Thursday, May 18.
In a press statement made available to newsmen in Enugu, High Chief Ekpete, who also holds the title of “Onodugo I of Ohofia Udumeze Ancient Kingdom,” described the massive turnout of APC faithful during the direct primaries as proof that Governor Mbah is performing well in Enugu State and that the people want him to continue his developmental strides beyond 2027.
The statement read in part: “Governor Peter Mbah is doing well. In less than three years, the pace of development he has enthroned in Enugu state is very unparralled in the history of the state.
“He has completed the International Conference Center, renovated the abandoned Hotel Presidential, revitalised the Niger Gas and many other abandoned, dilapidated institutions of the state government. In addition to starting and completing new ones,whereas many others are still under construction.”
High Chief Shadrach Ekpete also highlighted the Smart Schools initiative — one in each of the 260 wards in the state — and the Type 2 Hospitals as innovations capable of improving the educational and healthcare standards of residents and other Nigerians living in the state.
“Enugu metropolis has once again regained it’s glorious past as the capital of the Igbo nation. It is looking very neat. The transport system is now decentralised with the state owned Smart Buses.The street roads are being re constructed.
“The development is gradually melting down to outskirts of Enugu metropolis because Governor Mbah is bent on discovering and developing more townships in Enugu state. We shall give him all the support,” Chief Ekpete stressed.
Chief Ekpete, a successful businessman, also pledged to commit his time and resources towards ensuring that Governor Mbah records an overwhelming victory in Amankanu Ohofia and other communities in Aninri Local Government Area during the 2027 governorship election.
